Student Life
CHAPEL
Cape Fear Christian Academy holds a chapel service every Wednesday in the gymnasium, with faculty, staff, and students. Each week we invite a different speaker to come and lead our service. Once a month we have a student-led chapel that each class has the opportunity to plan.
There are two separate chapel services, one for the lower school which begins at 8:30 am and one for the middle and upper schools at 10:15 am.
Parents and members of the community are invited to come and worship with us.

BETA
“The purpose of the National Beta Club is to promote the ideals of character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students, to reward meritorious achievement and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school” (www.betaclub.org). Cape Fear Christian Academy’s Beta Club and Junior Beta Club consist of second-semester fifth through twelfth-grade students who achieve and maintain a high academic average. These students volunteer in their communities outside of school. They also contribute their time to various campus-wide organizations such as Student Council and Big Buddies, Little Buddies. In addition, the Beta Club students attend the annual North Carolina State Conference hosted in Greensboro annually where they are given the chance to compete in various creative and academic competitions with other Betas from all over North Carolina. Membership to this club is by invitation only and inductions happen once a year in the spring.
BIG BUDDIES LITTLE BUDDIES
Big Buddies/Little Buddies is a student-led organization that allows younger, elementary students to interact and have fellowship with high school students. Big Buddies/Little Buddies is a way for high school students to not only have fun and complete activities with the younger students but also mentor and guide them.

AG SCIENCE
Ag Science is offered to middle and upper students as an elective. Agricultural education teaches students about agriculture, food and natural resources. Students learn a wide variety of skills via hands-on field trips to farms.
HOMECOMING
Homecoming is a time for former students at CFCA to return to their Alma Mater and join current students in cheering on our basketball teams to victory. The student body votes on Middle School and Upper School students to represent each homecoming court. This year Ella John Dupree and Zeke Brock were the Upper School Queen and King.
KEY CLUB
The Key Club is sponsored by the Coats Kiwanis. Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. Key Club allows students to serve their community in many different ways while having fun with friends. It also encompasses the Middle School Builders Club. This year the Key Club hosted a blood drive with The American Red Cross. Over 129 Lives were saved through blood collection. Students in Key Club have over 1000 hours of service collectively for the 2023-2024
school year.

STUDENT COUNCIL
The Upper School Student Council is comprised of a four-member executive committee who is elected each spring by the rising 9th through 12th graders. Shortly after school begins in the fall, each 9th through 12th-grade class elects its own class officers to serve on the executive committee for that academic year.
The purpose of the Student Council is threefold:
1. to develop leadership skills among its members,
2. to encourage fellowship and school pride among the student body, alumni, and extended Cape Fear Christian Academy family,
3. to promote our school in the surrounding community.
The Student Council is responsible for many of the activities that make school more than an academic learning environment. Student Council seeks to create an environment where all students feel welcome and are encouraged to develop their unique God-given talents in ways that will build up our community.
STEM
The STEM program at Cape Fear Christian Academy provides students with the opportunity to learn about multiple occupations and trades through the use of different
student-led modules. The modules, purchased through Paxton Patterson, allow the students to explore and experiment with different topics that they may be interested in before high school graduation. The students are exposed to a variety of occupations within each of the modules.
ROBOTICS
Robotics is offered to students in six through eighth grade. Cape Fear Christian sent two teams this year to Wilmington to compete in the First Lego
League Challenge. This year’s team members were Trent Cameron, Garrett Chapman, John
Jackson, Ava Jones, Greg Kennedy, Trystan Marlow, Billy Moon, Zoe Morris, Zach Skolozynski,
Ezra Smith, Caleb Westberry, and Braxton Young. The focus of this year’s challenge was how art can be expressed through technology.

DRAMA
Students in grade six through twelfth grade have the options of choosing Drama as an elective. The Upper School Drama Class presented "A Super Christmas" this past December. The Middle School Drama Class will present "Shrek Jr." and the Upper School Drama
Class will present "The Little Mermaid Jr" this May.
Culinary Reactions
Culinary Reactions is a Senior Level Course that teaches valuable Life Lessons. Students are taught how to sew, cook, manage a household budget, change oil, change a flat tire, garden, and even learn the science of beekeeping.
